The Norwegian Youth Orchestra Association (UNOF) is a nationwide organization for all children and youth orchestras in Norway.
Approximately 4000 members are playing in more than 125 member orchestras. UNOF´s aim is for every music student to get instrumental training with emphasis on ensembles. The organization strongly emphasizes the need for orchestras on all levels, in order for young musicians to develop musical skills and get proper training.
UNOF cooperates with many Norwegian cultural institutions, both for amateurs and professionals.
The Norwegian Youth Orchestra Association (UNOF) is funded by the Ministry of Children and Equality.

UNOF is involved in:
  • funding for member orchestras
  • seminars for conductors
  • seminars for young leaders
  • Norwegian Youth Symphony Orchestra
  • summer music camps
  • lobbying and political issues related to music education
  • commitioning new works for young orchestras

UNOF´s head-office, located in Oslo, is responsible for the administrative and educational development of the organization, and the secretariat assists member orchestras when necessary. In addition, the head-office runs several projects, both in musical development and organizational development.
